We have been praying for a homeless man that my sister's church has been working with for about four years now. About a week and a half ago he had a severe stroke. Well since he was homeless and a known alcoholic everyone that saw him laying behind this building on a construction site thought he was just passed out drunk. The stroke happened on Saturday, well finally on Tuesday morning when the construction workers returned to work, and found that he was still laying in the same place, they called 911. He was unconscious, extremely dehydrated, and in very bad shape by this time. The doctors told us that his condition was not good, and at this point all they could do is try to keep him comfortable, and wait to see what happens. Several days went by, and he was non-responsive, so the hospital staff started to talk to us about making funeral arrangements. We still continued to pray, and try to keep our faith positive even though in the physical it seemed useless. After several days went by of no changes in his condition, suddenly he opened his eyes. By the next day he had pulled his feeding tube out. Today when I went to see him, he was wide awake, trying to talk, moving around, and trying to get out of his bed. He still can not walk yet or talk very clearly due to the stroke, his right side is very weak. I am praying and believing that he is going to continue to recover, and when he does that God is going to use him to do great things for His kingdom.
