Of course, by now, most of the U.S. has heard about the tornados that went through North Georgia recently.

We had an F2 touch down in downtown Atlanta, with up to 130mph winds. Did some minor damage to the Georgia dome, blew the windows out of hotels and buildings around the area...and from what I understand, that tornado carved a 4 to 6 mile path of damage through downtown Atlanta. Some people were hurt in that...but nobody was killed.

In Polk county...a lady was found (already dead) about 50 feet from her house. Not far from here, they also found a man that was critically injured. No word yet on how he is doing. They apparently were in a two-story house, which the tornado completely tore apart and nothing was left standing. No names are known at the time, but this guy needs prayer, if he is still alive. Prayer to get well from his injuries...and if he does get well, he will need prayer regarding whatever family member that probably was in his house. Perhaps his wife or mother...they'll probably tell that eventually.

Not too far from there, they found a fan that was thought to have been killed by a fallen tree. We look at these news stories about events like this, and we usually think, "I'm glad that wasn't in my area." But if it was in our area...and if did happen to us, we'd want somebody praying for us. So, I just wanted to post this to mention prayer for the families of these victims. A couple of them are no longer with us...but I'm sure they had families that will miss them a lot, and if they are unbelievers; they don't have the peace of God to know that "things will be okay and they will eventually get to see them again."
