I hate it when I can’t rhyme or write
Especially when an idea has me up all night
The words somehow lost from mind to pen
So I guess I’ll try to go to bed then
Since nothing goes as planned, why stay up late?
When I could be asleep, which sounds really great
Oh, how I hate having writer’s block
When all I hear is the sound of a clock
It ticks in my ear, so loud and so clear
Being up all night is a very real fear
If I close my eyes really, really tight
Perhaps I will fall asleep…sometime tonight
